A beautiful mid-length summer dress in airy white cotton and silk, with colourful woven motifs and finished with fine stitchings in bright colours.
Although not from former Ottoman areas, we were really touched by this refined collection. We recognized the hand made and traditional skills from the artisans and some similar textiles and techniques in Turkey. Unfortunately, for clothing they are not used in Turkey anymore (fortunately for (hammam-)towels, scarves and bedcovers they still do), so we are excited we found the Indian brand Injiri. For ages, cultures influenced each other, their fashion, used textiles and techniques via trade routes. So, this collection from India can be seen as a silk route find within Ottomania.
This product is entirely made by hand - from weaving and dyeing to the last trims and finishes; it passes through the hands of craftspeople from various parts of Indian utilizing traditional skills and techniques that differ from region to region.
The irregularities in weaving and dyeing are a feature of handwoven textiles.
The model is 1,72 m and wears a size 36 (S)
